That Freaking Elf….
It is DECEMBER 18th.
At this point you may be running out of ideas for your pesky little elf.
BUT- We’re all in too deep. So let’s help each other out and share some ideas.
Here are some to hopefully help you out! By the way- I bought 2 different elves this year. Their names are Chippy and Snowflake.
But- Snowflakes head fell off and is now being held on by tape…. So like- it’s not going great over here.
Anyway- here are some ideas to help you get through this final push!
1. Marshmallow Bubble Bath
Fill a small bowl or sink with mini marshmallows, and let your elf relax in their "bubble bath." Add a tiny towel or rubber ducky for extra charm.
2. Toilet Paper Snowman
Wrap a roll of toilet paper to look like a snowman. Draw on a face and buttons, and let your elf take credit for the snowy creation.
3. Swinging from the Chandelier
Tape the elf on a chandelier like they were swinging from the chandelier. Our ceiling fan. Whatever works…
4. Candy Cane Zipline
String a piece of twine across the room, and attach a candy cane for your elf to "zipline" from one side to the other.
5. Cookie Decorating Assistant
Set up a mini cookie decorating station with sprinkles, icing, and a few tiny cookies. Your elf can take credit for helping with the holiday treats.
6. Christmas Tree Climber
Place your elf mid-climb on the Christmas tree, using ornaments as footholds. Add a note about how much they love the view.
7. Gingerbread House Helper
Place your elf next to a partially constructed gingerbread house with candy and frosting nearby. Let them look like they’ve been hard at work.
8. Mini Movie Night
Create a tiny “movie night” setup with popcorn kernels and a handmade ticket stub. Your elf can sit with a small toy audience.
9. Snow Angel in Flour
Sprinkle flour on the countertop and lay your elf down with their arms and legs spread out, creating a "snow angel."
10. Elf Spa Day
Set up a spa scene with cotton ball “towels” and cucumber slices. Place your elf next to a nail polish bottle or lotion.
11. Board Game Takeover
Have your elf set up a board game with other toys as players. Use small pieces as game markers for added realism.
12. Balloon Hot Air Balloon
Create a hot air balloon with a helium-filled balloon and a small basket or cup. Place your elf inside and hang it from the ceiling.
13. Candy Cane Thief
Scatter candy canes around the house, and position your elf mid-theft with a mischievous grin.
14. DIY Snowball Fight
Use cotton balls or mini marshmallows for a snowball fight between your elf and other toys.
15. Wrapping Paper Mayhem
Roll out wrapping paper on the floor and have your elf sit nearby with scissors (plastic ones for safety) and tape. Add a small wrapped object to show their "work."
16. Elf Pinata
Ok- one year, I cheated and bought this elf kit. It came with this adorable pinata and was a huge hit.
17. Ice Skating Rink
Create an ice skating rink using a mirror or aluminum foil. Add bottle caps or paperclips as skates for your elf.
18. Christmas Card Signing
Place your elf next to a stack of holiday cards with a tiny pen. Leave a note saying they’re helping spread cheer.
19. Caught Reading
Set your elf up with a tiny book or prop them in front of a Christmas storybook. Scatter other books around for effect.
20. Milk and Cookie Feast
Position your elf with a plate of cookies and a small glass of milk (or a milk bottle cap). Leave crumbs for a realistic touch.
21. Toy Parade
Organize your child’s toys in a parade formation with your elf leading the way.
22. Elf Artist
Place your elf next to a mini easel with a drawing or painting. Use washable markers to create a simple masterpiece.
23. Stuck in a Jar
Trap your elf inside a clear jar or container. Add a note saying, “Help! I got stuck!” Or put some food in there and have them look like they’re eating it.
24. North Pole Post Office
Set up a mini post office scene with envelopes, stamps, and a small mailbox. Add a note saying they’re delivering holiday wishes.
25. Goodbye Snow Globe
On Christmas Eve, place your elf inside a clear bowl with cotton balls or fake snow. Add a note saying goodbye until next year.
